The Mahal is located in Alangankulam, at Ramanad, makes a bold and modern statement, in its built up area of 6280 square feet. This contemporary style Mahal takes shape as a simple cube structure, perfectly designed by the Muslim principles. The exterior of the building is cladded with dholpur sand stone combination of green marble. The stone adds richness to the façade. To balance the dhoplur stone, adding jalli white marble lattice works accent with Turkish arches brings extra interest to the exterior. This monumental G+1 Mahal volume boasts a more modern look with a geometric pattern combination of dholpur sand stone and green marble cladding the exterior. The flavour of rectilinear lines with spaces harmoniously blending with nature. SPATIAL ARRANGEMENTS AND MATERIALS: The verandah of the Mahal is beautified with patterned Rajasthan marble for flooring, a bold monumental two story entrance arch marble cladded with two columns on either side of the entrance arch. The interior of the Mahal with specific reference is a symphony of gold and silver with a touch Rajasthan marble. The huge hall evokes a sense of the aesthetic and quiet opulence. There is a grand dining hall large kitchen overlooking ceiling chandelier, with the beautiful marble staircase leading to the first floor above. The Mahal is well illuminated by openings and windows around it. The ground floor also consists of bathrooms and separate hand wash for ladies, with various shades of Rajasthan marble. The grand Rajasthan marble staircase leads to the first floor. First floor consists of a marriage hall with a stage and two separate rooms, one for the bride and one for the bridegroom. The rooms have attached bathrooms, with wooden doors and marble flooring. The terrace is beautifully landscaped with light and cross ventilation. The Mahal is designed as an intelligent smart Mahal with remote controls for light fixtures and security systems. The entire place flooring is with Rajasthan marble. The terrace floor is completely open and well landscaped.
SUSTAINABILITY AND RESPONSE TO THE ENVIRONMENT: The building is completely environmental friendly with its rainwater harvesting system. The building makes complete use to natural elements by providing maximum utilization of natural ventilation and lighting.
